Leading NIL firm adds top-tier financial literacy prowess through new collaboration with GSE’s team of directors.
WASHINGTON D.C., June 9, 2021 – Altius Sports Partners (ASP), a name, image and likeness (NIL) advisory and education firm, is pleased to announce a new alliance with Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment (GSE) and Delaware Funds® by Macquarie (Macquarie) to bolster its extensive financial literacy education resources. ASP works with blue-chip universities to provide strategic guidance and educational support through customized NIL programs tailored to the needs of each school’s athletic department and student-athletes.
GSE has joined to support ASP’s educational efforts as an exclusive ASP Cornerstone Partner through financial literacy seminars and workshops with ASP university clients. In a collaboration with GSE, Macquarie will support ASP’s educational mission by providing top tier written materials and video content to ASP for its clients to cover financial literacy essentials related to NIL. ASP will also provide NIL education sessions for GSE directors nationally, distinguishing such Financial Advisors from other advisors looking to enter the collegiate market by putting them on the cutting edge of the newly emerging NIL market.
“NIL rules changes will have cascading effects on the finances of student-athletes around the country, as well as what will be needed from an educational resource standpoint from universities,” said ASP CEO Casey Schwab. “Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment and Macquarie further strengthen our resources as we deliver financial literacy education poised to position our collegiate partners to succeed in this new era.”
A division of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management established in 2014, GSE serves the unique and sophisticated needs of professional athletes and entertainers. Comprised of Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors who hold the designation as Global Sports and Entertainment Directors, GSE offers a wide range of financial advisory services and has managed a variety of financial literacy programs in collaboration with top-tier collegiate and professional teams and entities.
“Our Global Sports and Entertainment Directors work with professional athletes, entertainment, social media figures, to assist with financial planning and wealth management -- which often includes educating clients and highlighting the importance of honing in on your “why?” – in order to give them the knowledge to feel empowered in their financial decision making,” said Sandra L. Richards, Managing Director, Head of Global Sports & Entertainment and Segment Sales & Engagement Group at Morgan Stanley. “This collaboration with ASP allows us to provide student-athletes with the resources to understand their personal finances and set up a frame of reference to prepare for the next level of their athletic careers.”
Delaware Funds by Macquarie is recognized as one of the longest standing mutual fund families in the United States, with over 80 years in existence.
“Our long-standing commitment to supporting organizations through financial education is a core value of our firm,” said Shawn Lytle, global head of Public Investments for Macquarie Asset Management and president of Delaware Funds by Macquarie. “Macquarie is proud to partner with Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment to provide content that will help ASP university clients with the financial literacy requirements that will ultimately have a lasting impact on student athletes.”
